Dr. Charles Bates earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 1994 from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to earn a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree in 1998 from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Charles brings his 25 years of combined chiropractic practice and teaching experience to his patients at Now Care Pain Relief Center. As Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences at Cleveland University – Kansas City, Dr. Charles served as a supervising clinician for clinic internship and was a lead instructor in Chiropractic Technique IV and Functional Assessment courses. Dr. Charles was also a lead instructor in Spinal Biomechanics, Physical Therapy 2, and 2 chiropractic technique courses at Southern California University of Health Sciences from 2014 to 2017. He also served on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) Standard Setting Committee in 2011 for National Board Examinations for the chiropractic profession. Dr. Bates was a co-author on clinical research studies that were published in 3 peer reviewed publications.
Dr. Charles is committed to lifelong learning, as he continues to expand his professional education in the specialties of rehabilitation, acupuncture and functional medicine. He has completed certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Cox Flexion-Distraction Technic, Graston Technique (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), and as a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner (CKTP).
