Dr. John Ashby

Ashby

Dr. John Ashby was born in Philadelphia, PA.  He attended Central High school of Philadelphia, graduated with Barnwell honors.  He then attended the University of Michigan, and graduated with a bachelor of Music degree in music education. Dr. Ashby also attended the Curtis Institute of Music, majoring in trombone. In 1973 he was principal trombonist of the national orchestra of Columbia in Bogota, and in 1976 he was principal trombonist of the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, in Germany.  A couple of years later he became physical therapy assistant at Lankenau Hospital.  Dr. Ashby also attended Lincoln University (PA), studying basic sciences.  He then attended Temple University School of Medicine, and received the Dorothea Daniels Glass award for rehabilitation medicine.  Dr. Ashby did his general internship at Frankfort Hospital of Philadelphia.  He also became a Resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital.  Dr. John Ashby currently resides in Delaware and is the staff physiatrist at Now Care.
